UNIQ You is proud to welcome Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) as our newest Industry Partner, joining us in creating bold new opportunities for young women in infrastructure and construction.
CSQ is an independent, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting the building and construction industry in Queensland. Their forward-thinking approach to addressing workforce challenges makes them a natural fit for our mission to inspire high school girls to explore careers in underrepresented industries.
This partnership reflects a shared commitment to building a more diverse, future-ready infrastructure workforce – and ensuring young women are supported and inspired to see themselves in these vital careers. Together, we are also launching the next phase of CSQ’s Construct Her Future initiative.
Val Ridley, CEO UNIQ You, shared:
“We’re proud to welcome Construction Skills Queensland as a UNIQ You Industry Partner. Their commitment to building a diverse and resilient workforce aligns perfectly with our mission at UNIQ You.
By working together, we can create meaningful pathways for young women into the construction and infrastructure sectors—industries where their perspectives and talents are needed now more than ever.”
About Construct Her Future
Launched in 2024, Construct Her Future is an industry-led mentorship program by CSQ designed to empower STEM-focused young women to explore careers in infrastructure. During the pilot, students from two Queensland schools teamed up to plan, tender, construct, and hand over a replica bridge—gaining hands-on experience and valuable industry mentorship.
UNIQ You is proud to support the next phase of Construct Her Future by facilitating a new program that will connect CSQ-sponsored Advisors from the Construction and Infrastructure industry with the first cohort of graduating students from the Construct Her Future pilot. This phase builds on UNIQ You’s experience delivering career conversations that connect students with real role models across male-dominated industries.
This initiative reflects the core strengths of both organisations: CSQ’s industry expertise and network, and UNIQ You’s proven ability to connect young women with role models who broaden their career horizons.
Geoff Clare, CEO, CSQ shared his thoughts on the partnership:
“CSQ, via our Construction Pathways project, is dedicated to developing greater awareness of the exciting and rewarding careers on offer in the building and construction industry.
By raising the profile of the industry with a whole new generation of students and young people, we hope to broaden the range of individuals considering a career in construction for themselves.
Construction Pathways also provides access to industry experiences, stories and individuals offering real-life advice and insights. The UNIQ You partnership will support this vision by creating valuable connections between students and industry.”
By combining CSQ’s sector knowledge with UNIQ You’s direct connection to students, this partnership will help more young women gain the insight, support, and inspiration they need to pursue meaningful careers in infrastructure.
