Hi Everyone,
Welcome to our end of Term 3 newsletter! What a month it has been.
Term 3 has officially come to a close—and calling it “busy” barely does it justice.
Across whole group, small group, one-on-one, and mentoring formats, we delivered 71 sessions and connected with over 1,200 students. We understand this term was a demanding one for schools, with subject selections and final-year preparations in full swing. Your dedication to ensuring students had access to our sessions and advisors has not gone unnoticed – thank you.
Our Advisor network continues to expand, now boasting over 100 passionate professionals eager to engage with your students and share their insights.
Looking ahead to Term 4, we’re keeping the momentum going.
We’re excited to launch a new theme this term, host our annual International Day of the Girl event in Brisbane (stay tuned for updates!), and refine our strategies to enhance and grow our service. We can’t wait to see you in upcoming sessions – be sure to book early to secure your preferred times and maximise availability.
Term 3 Update
Our National Program Manager, Rebecca Jeffrey, had the chance to share UNIQ You’s mission at AISWA – Association of Independent Schools of Western Australia and Catholic Education Western Australia’s Networking Day. We’re proud to play a part in inspiring girls to explore non-traditional pathways and grateful to be among such a passionate community of educators and industry leaders!

Term 3 Webinar
Did you catch our Term 3 Educator Webinar: Just Like Me?
Rio Tinto Advisors Pooja Arora and Olinda Garcia Gomez joined UNIQ You’s National Program Manager, Rebecca Jeffrey, for an engaging discussion.
Pooja, Manager – Agile Delivery, and Olinda, Senior Mining Engineer, shared valuable insights into their roles and the mining industry. Their perspectives equipped educators with practical knowledge and tools to pass on to students interested in pursuing a career in mining.
The conversation explored key themes that often resonate with students and educators alike, such as:
- How do your personal values and passions show up in your career?
- What did you think mining would be like before joining the industry, and what has surprised you most?
- Looking back, what advice would you give your younger self about subject choices or school pathways?
Educators, UNIQ You staff, and the Advisors from Rio Tinto walked away with new perspectives, inspiration, and a deeper understanding of how to support girls considering careers in mining. Missed this webinar? It’s not too late!
And don’t forget – keep an eye on your inbox for details about our Term 4 Educator Webinar. You can also register your interest early by emailing [email protected]
IDOTG & Scholarship Applications
UNIQ You’s annual International Day of the Girl fundraising breakfast is just around the corner! On October 10th, 2025, UNIQ You will meet with educators, industry partners, government and students to celebrate UNICEF’s International Day of the Girl.
The day celebrates the strength, potential, and rights of the world’s 600 million adolescent girls, while highlighting the challenges they face in reaching their full potential. In Australia, girls in rural and remote areas continue to face barriers, including geographical isolation, that can limit their access to education and career pathways.
Our annual breakfast raises funds for our Schools Scholarship Fund, helping girls from all backgrounds across Australia access our service.
If you’d like the chance to receive a Scholarship in 2026, we recommend you apply for our SSF before IDOTG! We already have 51 applications!
